It’s refreshing to know that there are Asian love stories that aren’t ultra sappy, violent or downright bizarre (but if that’s your thing, then for all of the above please see “Chinese Ghost Story” for your viewing pleasure). In “Love in a Puff”, we find a cute film transportable to any city, and a playful story applicable to anyone.
For a play written in the 1960’s, Entertaining Mr Sloane is surprisingly fresh, hilarious and witty. Written by Joe Orton and directed by Adam Cook the story revolves around a quirky mix of characters all of whom have their own agenda and intend to pursue it until the end
This trio act of cabaret singers as well as talented musicians took us through an hour’s journey of back to back seedy, romantic, witty and debauched world of songs. There was a mash up of Jacques Brel, Noel Coward and Scott Walker that then dipped in David Bowie, John Barry and the Velvet Underground.
If you didn’t know who Queenie Van de Zandt was and took a “punt to see her” you will know who she is by the end of the show. A stand up cabaret star with a good sense of humour tells her tale about her life in the cabaret world of 21 years.
Worldwide famine, tens of millions of refugees, hundreds of millions of job losses; this may sound like the latest Hollywood disaster movie, but is in fact about that tiny morsel of tuna you’re about to stick in your mouth.
If you want to be horrified and wet your pants at the same time, then please, I beg you, see this.
What can I say about Dynamic Creations’ Steampunk Ball? It was quite the experience, but I’m not sure it was the right experience for me.
