The 2011 BigPond Adelaide Film Festival is looking for local artists to be involved with its ground-breaking five-day creative lab, The Hive.

Running from 24 – 28 February 2011, the series will enable 20 talents from film, literature, performing and visual arts to come together to share creative approaches and processes.

The Hive will also introduce you to potential collaboraters and inspire artists from other genres to conquer film as a creative outlet.

Walker has also collaborated with several other artists to express their ideas of adornment, intrictely carving henna painting designs, willow patterns and Chinese characters into his boards.

Genius or fake? The art world and the public are still debating the true value of Andy Warhol, a flagrant self-promoter whose insatiable appetite for fame saw him exploit everyone and everything to parlay himself to celebrity status.

Inspired by The Factory – Warhol’s original New York City studio – Uber Bunk is Leigh Warren’s tongue-in-cheek look at another side of this pop culture icon. The cast of characters includes a swag of Factory icons including Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Brigid Berlin and Edie Sedgwick.

2011 JUMP MENTORING PROGRAM is calling for artists!

Youth Arts Queensland is inviting artists from across the country to apply for the 2011 JUMP Mentoring Program, which promotes artistic excellence for 18 – 30 year olds who are in their first five years of practice.

The program helps applicants develop a one-on-one mentoring relationship with an industry leader of their choice.

JUMP will also provide applicants with full industry networking access, online profiling and other professional development activities.
