Fringe Benefits and Paperhorse Studios are running a series of workshops & info sessions for emerging artists in Adelaide.

Who Me? From Promotion to Exhibition
Wed 24 March 6pm – 8pm
Max. 10ppl, FREE
When starting out as a visual artist, it can sometimes be hard to get your foot in the door. Come along and hear how practising artists from paperhorse put their promotional tactics to use and their networking skills to play.
Mix and Mash: Intro to Mixed Media
Wed 21 April 6pm – 8pm
Max. 25ppl, FREE
Paperhorse Studio founder Lisa King will take you into the world of mixed media. Incorporating design, illustration, photography as well as other mediums, this workshop will show you how to mix up styles to mash up your art.
Basic Stencil Art Workshop
Sat 8 May 2pm – 5pm
Max. 10ppl, $20
Learn basic stencil art technique from Joshua Smith to create a 1 layer canvas. Use stencil cut out and spray painting techniques. Workshop cost includes materials. No experience required.
Advanced Stencil Art Workshop
Sat 15 May 2pm – 6pm
Max. 10ppl, $30
Following on from the Basic Stencil Art Workshop, the Advanced Workshop with Joshua Smith will teach takes the layering process to make stencil art with depth. Workshop cost includes materials. Some experience or Basic Stencil Art Workshop required.
Pop Art Portrait Workshop
Sat 29 May 2pm – 6pm
Max. 10ppl, $50
Lisa King will teach you how to create an easy and effective portrait using techniques influenced by pop art. Based on a 3 – 4 layer process, you’ll learn how to start a portrait and then add layers, texture, depth and contrast. Workshop cost includes materials. Some experience or Basic Stencil Art Workshop required.
Being a Professional Artist

Max. 25ppl, FREE
An established SA artist will chat about their experiences on the road to becoming a professional artist including: curation, exhibition, working with agencies and the dedication required. More information available closer to date.
